15 Creative, Appealing “About Me” Pages
8Just because you are working from behind a screen doesn’t mean you can’t be personable. You may be offering extraordinary service to your customers online, which is admirable, but remember that most people don’t easily give their trust (along with their money) to a complete stranger. Of course, not everyone is going to know who you are right away, but by setting up a thoughtful “About Me” page, you are able to offer an understanding of what makes you worthy of customers’ consideration, trust, and business.
“About” pages are an often-overlooked opportunity to distinguish yourself from your competitors and foster an appetite for your services. Misguided, thoughtless versions of these “About” pages are typically filled with bland, uninspiring imagery and information, which is doubly bad for someone in a creative industry. While working on your “About Me” or “About Us” page, consider it a chance to show off your creativity. You’re a designer; you don’t want to come off as a carbon copy, do you?
